All about George

A Littlejohn story for everyone today!

The City of London is made up of many different people drawn from across the UK and the World they come from all backgrounds and all with a unique personal history. When they begin their careers, they are like you, me, the many! As they develop their career and gain recognition, they then become characters and a ‘City’ resource. Such a man is my long-time, good friend, George Littlejohn. We have known each other since the early nineties and have at various times been colleagues, but always friends. George has acquired many friends during his career and many more know George and are glad to spend time with him. This video interview is all about George!

So, who is George Littlejohn? I expect those many friends of his will all have their own ideas of who George is. The reflection of a man is often viewed differently by different people. In our own eyes we all know a bit of George but in this interview, we will learn more much more!

We begin with where George was born and continue through to the present day. We stop off along the way to discuss key points in George’s life and career. We intersperse with a chat about the impacts of change like Big Bang in 1986 and the massive changes in Journalism. Some characters well known in the City gain a mention, as does Georges invaluable work at the CISI, including the work he is doing to help Ukraine in establishing a strong financial market capability.

This ISITC Europe City Chronicles 2-part video will give everyone an insight into the life of George Littlejohn and will provide a personal observation of some key developments and changes that shape the City today and tomorrow.

I am grateful to my friend for his time and his willingness to share his life for posterity. No George it’s not an obituary! But a lesson for people embarking on a career in the City (or more broadly anywhere) on how to become a success without losing good humour or integrity. How being good and doing good things brings rewards not only for the individual but also can be shared by us all. Thanks, mate!
