TalkTime Podcast: Tokenisation Stablecoins and the Future of Financial Markets (Part 2)

Listen to part two of ISITC Europe’s conversation with Professor Daniel Broby on tokenisation,  stablecoins and market infrastructure.

How will tokenised finance transform custody, settlement and access to private capital? In this episode, Gary Wright of ISITC Europe continues his conversation with Professor Daniel Broby to explore the market-structure changes already underway — from stablecoins and central bank digital currencies to interoperability, real-time settlement and the future of investor protection.

Designed for securities operations professionals, fintech leaders, custodians, market-infrastructure specialists and capital-markets innovators, this episode looks beyond the hype to ask what financial markets may need to become over the next generation.

Listen now to understand the practical opportunities and risks shaping tokenised financial markets.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why custody remains central in a tokenised financial system.
  • How stablecoins are influencing settlement, business models and decentralised finance.
  • Why central bank digital currencies may develop differently from stablecoins.
  • The challenge of interoperability across thousands of blockchain protocols.
  • How atomic settlement and 24/7 payments could change capital markets operations.
  • Why private equity access, capital raising and entrepreneurship may be transformed by new market infrastructure.
  • How AI, data integrity and trusted valuations will affect investor confidence.

Highlights

  • Custody in tokenised markets: Traditional custodians remain vital for institutional flows, but broader investor access may create room for new custody models.
  • Stablecoins and settlement: The discussion explores how fiat-backed digital assets are changing settlement economics and creating new infrastructure questions.
  • Interoperability: As blockchain networks multiply, cross-chain operability becomes a critical requirement for safe, scalable digital markets.
  • Atomic settlement: Instant settlement may be technically possible, but existing infrastructure, regulation and operational resilience make transition complex.
  • Private equity access: Tokenisation and richer data may help reduce barriers to capital raising for smaller companies and widen participation.
  • AI and valuation trust: The episode closes with a discussion on data integrity, AI-driven markets and the need to protect trusted sources of valuation.
