TalkTime Podcast: The Future of Private Equity, Tokenization & AI (Part 1)

A Deep Dive into How Technology Is Transforming Global Private Equity Markets

ISITC Europe presents a must‑listen  2 part podcast exploring the rapid evolution of private equity, tokenization, and AI driven valuation. Hosted by Gary Wright, this conversation features Professor Daniel Broby—a globally recognised expert in financial technology, successful businessman, and ISITC Europe Advisory Board Member.

Now based in the Philippines and at one of the leading management schools, Daniel brings a unique blend of industry experience and academic insight to one of the most important shifts happening in global finance today.

“Excess liquidity… is always a stimulus. There is a lot of capital chasing private equity at the moment.” — Professor Daniel Broby

Why This Episode Matters in Today’s Volatile Global Economy

With geopolitical tensions, tightening interest rates, and supply chain disruptions affecting markets worldwide, investors are searching for new ways to unlock liquidity and drive economic growth. This episode examines how technology‑enabled private equity could act as a stabilising force—opening access, improving transparency, and reshaping how capital flows across borders.

Key Topics Covered: Private Equity, Tokenization & AI

1. Tokenization: The Next Frontier for Private Equity

Tokenization is redefining how investors access private equity by converting ownership into digital assets on blockchain. Daniel explains how this shift:

  • Broadens access beyond traditional LPs
  • Enables global participation from any geography
  • Improves transparency and transferability
  • Increases liquidity in historically illiquid markets

“Tokenization… means we widen the investor base.” — Professor Daniel Broby

This trend is already visible in public markets, with exchanges like the Swiss Stock Exchange and platforms such as Robinhood experimenting with tokenized equity.

2. AI‑Driven Valuation & Agentic Analysis

The episode explores how AI and machine learning are transforming private equity valuation:

  • Faster, structured analysis using agentic AI
  • Machine‑learning‑based valuation models
  • Tools like Microsoft Copilot enabling rapid financial modelling
  • Enhanced accuracy and comparability across global markets

This technological shift is accelerating deal flow and improving decision‑making for investors.

3. Decentralized Markets & the Decline of Geographic Boundaries

Tokenization and digital connectivity are pushing markets toward decentralization:

  • Liquidity becomes global rather than tied to local exchanges
  • Traditional stock exchanges must evolve to support tokenized settlement
  • Custody models shift from registrars to digital wallets and cloud‑based records
  • New governance challenges emerge around oversight and investor protection

This raises important questions about the future role of exchanges like London, New York, and Tokyo.

4. Regulation, Governance & Global Standards

Daniel offers a balanced perspective on regulatory frameworks:

  • The need for international standards
  • Avoiding over‑regulation that stifles innovation
  • Ensuring investor protection in decentralized markets
  • Lessons from crypto‑exchange failures such as FTX

The conversation highlights the importance of policy development, an area where ISITC Europe continues to lead.
