Sophie Bertin is one of the ISITC Europe Country Ambassadors, who will be representing Switzerland.

Sophie Bertin Hadjiveltcheva has a unique career path combining experience at top consultancies, senior management in banking, as well as a leading the task Force Financial Crisis at the European Commission in charge of the State support to the European Financial Sector during the Great Financial Crisis of 2008-2014, and now turned RegTech entrepreneur.

During the Financial Crisis, she served as Head of Unit at the Directorate General for Competition within the European Commission. There, she was responsible for the review and approval of the State aid provided by Member States to the financial services, as well as contributed to the elaboration of the banking regulatory packages.

Prior to her role with the European Commission, Sophie held senior positions within SWIFT, where she was globally in charge of Asset Servicing; with The Bank of New York Mellon; and worked with the top consultancies McKinsey and later Bain &Co.

Later, she turned to entrepreneurship and set up in 2016 her own consultancy (Parnima Consulting), where she advises on banking strategy, risk and compliance and EU Regulations, as well as on EU State aid law and the recently adopted EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation.

She founded Serapy in 2020 with the aim of improving corporate compliance training, in particular AML/CFT, through the combination of gamification, role play and AI-supported online tools, to offer a better learning experience to employees.

Sophie started her studies in Vienna, graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, holds an MBA from INSEAD and a post-graduate diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College. She graduated in 2017 from the Swiss Board Institute and helds NED positions.
